'Hostess With the Mostess' Must Haves - XL Wine Glass

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my recent "HWM'-Must Have purchase from Crowd Cut;  2- XL Wine Glasses - each one holds an entire bottle of wine!!  Excellent, since I only drink one glass!  These will be great for all sorts of drinky-poos.  Total party glass.  I hope it fits in the other side of my two-bottle leather carrier.  Otherwise, I need to figure out another transport option.  What should the Diva glass slipper look like?  I'm thinking one of these feather quill babies.  They're big and fabulous like the glass.  And one of the things I really like about these is that the quills stay stunningly fanned out when you pick up your glass - imagine a round feather fan.  What do you think about this style choice? Gail's luau birthday party

My good friend, Gail, likes to throw herself a luau-themed birthday party every 5 years (because they are a lot of work!)

She recently celebrated her 51st birthday with about 50 of her closest friends and family members in June.  It was a classy affair, with a catered luau buffet, full Tiki bar and she hired local DJ extraordinaire, Ray Richardson, for our listening and dancing pleasure. Thanks to Party City's fantastic selection of luau party supplies she found most everything she needed including adorable invitations in a bottle, grass hut table umbrellas, full-size Tiki bar, themed plates, napkins and colorful plastic stemware (since divas drink from stemware, you know).   We were grateful for the gorgeous weather and the guests were festively dressed in their sexiest luau wear.  

I arrived a few minutes early to dress the colorful plastic stemware and arranged them on the Tiki bar in easy reach of the bartender.  Each brightly colored tropical cotton glass slipper was decorated with a different tropical themed charm.  Everyone loved them and was thrilled to learn they could take their's home as a sweet keepsake.

Wine Down Wednesday-Simple Mojitos

Are there any other kind?  I don't know about you but I NEED my cocktails to be simple, easy to make, nothing that is going to stress me out to make for heaven's sake. Right?  My good diva bud, Christine hipped me to a delightful line of all  natural cocktail mixers called Stirrings that make mixing your favs a breeze with only 2-3 additional ingredients needed. We've stirred up the scrumptious Cosmopolitan and the over-the-top Margarita and now the unbelievably delicious Mojito.  I want to do the Lemon Drop Martini next!

I muddled the fresh mint in the shaker, added ice and the liquids per the recipe.  

Oh, I subbed raspberry Mojito flavored seltzer for the club soda in the recipe.
